80/20 aluminum

8020 Aluminum Design Software

Design 80/20 aluminum frames in 3D without learning CAD. Snap rails, joints and accessories that fit, then get a parts list with exact cut lengths.

How it works

From idea to parts list in three steps

  1. 01

    Frame it in 3D

Place extrusion rails, join them with brackets and joints, and drag to resize: connected rails stretch or shorten together.

    Watch the demo
  2. 02

    Get exact rail lengths

The parts list gives every rail's length and the brackets, screws and panels you need, and the cut plan shows how to cut them from stock lengths.

    Watch the demo
  3. 03

    Assemble with confidence

Follow numbered assembly steps for your frame, from the first corner to the last panel.

Auto-Adjust the Design Based on Joints

Drag one handle and a connected 80/20 frame changes size: the rails attached to it lengthen or shorten together, so a sim rig or workstation can be resized to your space in seconds.

Get Your Cut Plan

Choose the stock rail length and see every 80/20 cut laid out along it, so you know how many full rails to order, or which lengths to ask for cut to size.

What Parts Do I Need?

Every rail, bracket, panel and screw you add shows up in the parts list beside your frame, with lengths and quantities that update as the design changes.

When the frame is ready, match each line of the parts list to a store product, skip anything you already have, and send the rest to your cart to review before checkout.

Click an open slot or rail end and the parts drawer opens with the 80/20 joints, brackets and rails that fit it. Pick one to attach it in place.

Instant Assembly Guides

Build your 80/20 frame one numbered step at a time. Each step names the rails and brackets to join and marks where they connect.

Design from an Idea, Text or Picture

Design from an Idea, Text or Picture demo

Describe what you want to build, or attach a photo or sketch, and Crafti AI drafts a whole design made of separate parts you can edit. Start a raised garden bed or potting bench from a sentence, then select any piece to keep refining it. Your project begins from an idea, not a blank screen.

Fractional or Metric 80/20?

80/20 comes in fractional series (1" and 1.5") and metric series (20, 30 and 40 mm), and their brackets and screws don't mix.

Crafti keeps track of the series of every rail you place, so the brackets, T-nuts and screws it offers always fit that rail.

New to 80/20?

If you've never built with 80/20, it's easy to buy the wrong bolts or forget a bracket. Crafti shows which parts connect where, adds the hardware to your parts list and gives you numbered assembly steps, so you can build your first frame with confidence.

Brackets That Fit the Rail

Each 80/20 part carries its connection size and type, so when you click a rail Crafti only offers the joints and accessories that fit it.

Skip the Spreadsheet

Instead of copying parts into an order by hand, let Crafti match each line on your parts list to a store product and fill your cart at McMaster-Carr, The Home Depot or Lowe's. You check it before paying, and nothing is bought until you do.

Questions

80/20 aluminum design questions

Which 80/20 profile series are supported?

The fractional 1" and 1.5" series and the metric 20 mm, 30 mm and 40 mm series, with joints and accessories for each.

Will the parts list include brackets and screws?

Yes. Brackets, joints, panels and fasteners are counted along with the rails, so the list is ready to order.

Can I design a sim racing rig?

Yes. Start from the driving simulator example and change it to fit your seat, wheel and pedals, or begin from scratch.

Do I have to cut the rails myself?

No. The parts list gives each rail's exact length, so you can order rails cut to length, or use the cut plan to cut them from stock lengths yourself.

Can I connect 80/20 to wood?

Yes. Transition parts join wood to 80/20 aluminum, so a plywood top or wooden shelf can be part of the same design.

Can I share my 80/20 design?

Yes. Every saved design has its own link. Anyone you send it to can view it or make their own copy, but they can't change yours.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Crafti runs in the browser on your phone or computer, with nothing to download.

Do I need Crafti Pro?

No. You can design for free, and many features work in the free version. Crafti Pro unlocks some features and includes monthly credits for Crafti AI. See Pricing for what it includes.
